Newark has extremely tight security



Newark security is known as one of the tightest security checks in the country. Make sure you are ready to go through security.  Minor things (such as nail clippers) could end up causing you a major delay

Newark Terminal C Security



Terminal C has three different security lines, C1 is generally the shortest line.  C3 (in the middle) is usually the longest.  It is probably worth taking a minute to scout the different lines

Newark body scanners



Some lines have full-body scanners.  It is your right to “opt-out” of the scan, but you will be subject to an “enhanced pat-down” which has been described as a sexual assault.  If you want to avoid a full-body scan, you should take a minute and find a line that does not have them
